The Right Words

if i had the right words to use
and i knew how to use them for you
i'd write them all down for your eyes to read them
and for your mind to tell you what to do

but if and when the sun has set on us
the moon will ascend in your eyes
because the death of our unfalterting love
would be my own demise

so listen to what i have to say
when i am evading your glance
because i could look for the right words
if you would give me long enough a chance

i could use the old cliches
that are meaningless to me and to you
but i love you, and i choose these phrases
in the desperate hopes that you love me, too

and i could go on forever
and tell you foolish lies
but they all mean pure nothing
compared to the beauty of your eyes
